A Chara,

A huge weekend of championship action is ahead of us this weekend. Over the years we may have looked forward to the first weekend in September for the All-Ireland Final but today our eyes are firmly fixed on our intermediate hurlers clash with Youghal. This is an absolutely huge game for the club. The game is a must win and we also require a Lisgoold victory in the other game in the group to progress to the knockout stages. Score difference will also come into play here but we will worry about that when the games are over and hope for the best in that department. Our lads have put in two solid displays so far in the championship. They clawed back a five-point deficit against Aghabullogue the first day out to earn a draw while we were unlucky to lose by the minimum against Lisgoold in Dungourney. As mentioned above, today's game is do or die. The game throws in at 2pm today (Saturday) in Aghavine (Fr. O'Neils GAA Pitch). Best of luck manager Derick Whyte, Captain Mark McCarthy and all involved. We've no doubt ye will give it everything lads.

Hopefully after a successful Saturday, our Junior B Hurlers travel to Aghavine again to face Cloyne in their final group game of the East Cork Championship. This game takes place at 11:30am in Aghavine and the lads will be hoping to put a second win on the board after a great victory over Erins Own last weekend. There is a great chance a win here would put us through to the knockout stages of the competition. Best of luck to Captain Dan Leahy and all involved here.
Tickets for this game are available at the gate.

On Sunday afternoon, our Senior Ladies Footballers are in championship action again against Fermoy in Rostellan at 4:30pm. Our girls were fierce unlucky not to get a result away to county champions Mourneabbey two weeks ago so will be hoping to put their first points on the board on Sunday evening. Best of luck to manager Eric Smith, Captain Emma Farmer and all involved here.

Of course, it is also important to note that our Junior A Camogie team are flying at the moment. They won their first two games against both Cobh and Sliabh Rua. Both games took place in Ballinacurra and it was great to see such a big crowd in attendance to support our women. Unfortunately, the team suffered their first loss of the championship campaign last night but it should be noted that the lineup was extremely young and we were missing a few important players. The team will regroup and drive into their next match which is coming up shortly. Keep an eye on social media for more details on this.

Before concluding, a huge thanks to all the club members who gave up their Friday evening to assist with stewarding down in Páirc Liam Uí Riain last night for the Premier Junior Hurling match between Russell Rovers and St. Catherines. The event went off very successfully and it was great to see such a big crowd enjoying our facilities in Rostellan. Also, it was brilliant to see our new scoreboard in operation along with The Sideline Café being very busy. Well done to Brian Walsh and John Murphy who co-ordinated the running of the event. These matches don't just run themselves and there was incredible work and planning went in behind the scenes from the two lads.

Best of luck to everyone taking part in the Relay For Life event in Midleton CBS today and tomorrow. Great work has gone in down in the club to sell candles of hope over the last few weeks and the aim is to have a representative from Aghada GAA Club walking right through the night from the start to the end of the Relay For Life. Be sure to call in to the CBS if you are passing! Members of the Cork Senior Hurling Team will be present from 6pm on Saturday. Best of luck to all involved.

That's it for today. Please do support our teams over the next two days. Every voice counts!
