Rebel Óg Coiste Fe18 Premier 1 Hurling League Ballincollig 2-17 Aghada 3-20 report by Jim Motherway

A fantastic performance from Aghada in our first game in the Premier 1 hurling league in Ballincollig tonight ended with our lads winning by 2 goals . On a fairly slippery surface the 2 teams served up a cracker . Ballincollig settled quicker and goaled after 5 mins but after Cormac Walsh kicked the ball to the net Aghada dominated and reeled off some wonderful points especially from full forward Jude Devoy , to leave the score at half time 1-11 to 1-8 ( that’s what the ref gave anyway) . We started the second half on fire and opended an 8 point gap , but the home side dug in and when they reduced the gap to 2 points we looked in trouble but the lads responded with great heart and secured the game with some great scores. This was a performance full of heart and commitment and was a great start to the campaign with a long road ahead .
